Geodesic Dome

I'm not going to list the series of disasters that made up our weekend at Mentmore Art, Craft & Design Show - that'd be far too negative...

Here's a series of photos of Jon's Dome going up on the Plot the other week instead.

Got a couple of guys coming on courses this week then we're off to the HeARTwood Festival at St Albans on Saturday and Hainault Forest Country Show on Sunday and Monday - so no peace for the wicked then!

What is the dome being used for and what is the purpose of the tube in the middle?

For sleeping in at the moment but could be used to work and live in or even for a party it's so big!
The tube is a chimney for the fire which is made from an old gas bottle.

Neat! What are the round, connecting parts made of?

They are slices of gas pipe.

That takes a lot of work and time to make that dome stand and looks like you need a lot of people. Anyway, I like the chimney idea but isn't it dangerous to put on fire inside the dome?
