Kuksa

Nick Alf did a days spoon carving with me last year.  He seems to have been bitten by the Green Woodworking bug and booked for the whole weekend.  Yesterday he did an Introduction to the Pole Lathe and made some Beech lemon sqeezers.  Today he made a massive kuksa from this chunk of Silver Birch...

Wonderful, I wish I had the talent to do something like this!

Hi Robin, What is that hook gouge he is using and where is it from?

It's a Hans Karlsson dog-leg gouge and I bought it from Jon Warnes - http://www.woodlandcraftsupplies.co.uk

Jon's apparently sold Woodland Craft Supplies to Matthew Robinson in Peterborough but the website is still operating.

Thanks for that Robin.

Nice work on the Kuksa. I would be interested to see the finished article. In the past I have found that if you take the bowl to fine it has a tendency to split. David how do you go about ensuring that the green wood do's not split.

Paul
