I know it's only a young one and covered with snow but does anyone recognise the tree?

Oh my god! What a question...
Hazel?
Nope...
Poplar?
I'd guess blackthorn
Definitely not one we get round this neck of Yorkshire. The closeness of the side-shoots must be diagnostic, how about spindle tree?
Did Richard get it right? doesn't look the right shape to me. sorry I've been slow reading and writing blogs whilst the snow seems to make everything take longer than normal. I'll start with Aspen as it's an A - next guess will have to be Beech, err or Birch, and then I can't think of one starting with C right now.
Hope you are coping well with the big freeze,
Mark
No, not Aspen or Spindle. Try starting with 'E'!
It's not a young Elm is it? Looks too conical too me...but I'm often wrong!
YES Andy - 3rd time lucky.
(see my comments under next post)
Blimey! Should have got that one, there are plenty in Strid. (Makes a lame excuse) well I would have known it in the flesh. :-)
